Abstract

This paper aims to conduct an analysis of digital leadership, the ways in which managers can use digital means during their work, and also to help other employees active in organizational processes to successfully include these tools to streamline their work, maintaining a balance between innovation and employee well-being. Through relevant case studies, this research offers some directions to support managers/leaders, aware that digital advances, while increasing productivity, can also lead to increased stress, insecurity, and burnout among employees. The main objective of this paper is to identify innovative leadership strategies focused on the health and resilience of the workforce. This analysis is intended to serve as guidelines for managers, human resources specialists, other leaders (for example, team leaders) and in general decision-makers who understand the importance of implementing strategies regarding the facilitation of an effective transition in the context of digital transformation. In this sense, cases of burnout can be prevented or mitigated, while ensuring the alignment of the organization's overall objectives, without affecting actions to encourage competitiveness (through digitalization), with efforts to maintain employee well-being. Researchers can use this study to further examine the intersection of leadership, technology, and employee mental health in digital workplaces. This paper does not focus exclusively on profitability and organizational efficiency – although these are certainly aspects to consider – in a restrictive and immediate sense, but rather considers the concept of digital leadership, which ensures that digital progress does not come at the expense of employee health or the long-term viability of the business. In other words, the study addresses the practical ways in which the paradigm shift can be managed - as a result of the evolution of digital tools - prioritizing both technological progress and human sustainability.
