Abstract

Abstract: The electromagnetic interference (EMI) between different devices in critical and non-critical environments (as household devices, industrial environments and especially for the medical sector) is one of the new challenges arising for design engineer, following the wide spread of advanced electronic systems and solutions.   This phenomenon can compromise the operation of the computer devices. The main objective of this paper is to present the negative effects of electromagnetic disturbances from the power grids on the computer networks, as well as to briefly illustrate the necessity and advantages of using EMI filters to solve the problems related to the electromagnetic interference.
