Digitalization represents one of the most significant transformations with a direct impact on the competitiveness, sustainability, and adaptability of modern organizations. The adoption of digital technologies is no longer an option, but an essential condition for survival and adaptation, particularly in the economic and technological context shaped by Industry 4.0 and the transition towards Industry 5.0. The topic is highly relevant given the accelerated transformation of market requests, the speed of technological change, as well as increasing pressures related to sustainability and competitiveness. The paper contributes to the topic by analyzing the current stage of digitalization management in the automotive industry, by structuring the processes and stages specific to digital transformation. This analysis provides a clear understanding of how organizations can approach digitalization in a systematic manner, with illustrative examples from the automotive sector, thereby reducing risks and maximizing benefits. Taking into consideration that the world is changing constant, digitalization stands as a transformative driver of the economic and technological environment, enabling companies to adapt swiftly, foster innovation, and maintain competitiveness.
