Enhancing supply chain effectiveness through improved collaboration among partners is a central theme in logistics digitalization research. Objectives: In response to this trend, this study investigates the integration of Transport Management Systems (TMS) with third-party Software as a Service(SaaS), platforms, focusing on how such integrations can enhance logistics brokerage capabilities via system interoperability and digital transformation principles. A systematic literature review, guided by the PRISMA protocol, was conducted to examine peer-reviewed studies from the past five years addressing digitalization in logistics, particularly from the perspective of TMS integration and the evolving function of logistics brokers. The analysis employs a four-dimensional model based on Layered Systems and Modular Architecture Theory to synthesize current findings. Results indicate a fragmented understanding of the strategic potential of SaaS integration in logistics brokerage.
The study underscores the critical role of platform interoperability and seamless system integration in optimizing logistics operations and enhancing service delivery across the supply chain. Implications: The findings offer practical implications for logistics brokers and supply chain managers, advocating for a holistic, system-level approach to digital integration.
Originality value: This research contributes to bridging existing knowledge gaps and contributes to a conceptual foundation for developing strategic frameworks that support effective TMS integration with partner SaaS platforms to generate synergies
