In the modern workplace, as tasks become more complex and organizations undergo constant change, job architecture has shifted from an administrative function to a strategic asset. Literature recognizes the significant role of organizational design, job crafting, and relational job design in fostering role clarity, driving employee motivation, and promoting adaptability in organizations. However, the influence of job architecture on technical delivery performance, especially within Agile and high-complexity settings, remains insufficiently explored. This study explores the question: “To what extent does job architecture contribute to technical delivery performance”? This research draws on literature and theoretical models from the past five decades, introduced in the literature review and integrated through a systematic synthesis. The findings from the conceptual synthesis suggest that flexible and integrative job architectures are, in theory, strongly associated with enhanced technical delivery outcomes. They enhance coordination, decision-making autonomy, and knowledge sharing across teams. Job architecture serves as an important enabler by fostering coordination, decision-making autonomy, and knowledge sharing across teams; it transcends traditional HR frameworks by serving as the underlying structure that drives Agile execution and supports organizational adaptability. This study positions job architecture as a key enabler of high-performance technical delivery; it further proposes a conceptual model synthesizing organizational design elements with Agile execution principles.
